Swan Song
Creation and performance: Jil Guyon
Music: Alain Presencer, The Singing Bowls of Tibet
Photos: Niel Frankel
Influenced by Butoh and German expressionism, Swan Song is a solo performance that addresses themes of pain, possession and death. The work begins with a circular landscape that gradually dissolves into clouds of white powder as the movement sequence unfolds. Combining repetition and slowness with Tibetan bowl music, the piece is a minimalist performance-ritual.
